The Hmong: 1987-1995: A Selected and Annotated Bibliography
Compiled by J. Christina Smith

This bibliography is a sequel to The Hmong: An Annotated Bibliography, 1983-1987 (Southeast Asian Refugee Studies Occasional Papers, no. 7). It includes works on the Hmong (Meo) of Southeast Asia (Laos, Thailand and Vietname), the Miao of China, and the Hmong diaspora in the United States, Australia, Canada and French Guiana. The majority of the 744 print citations pertain to the Hmong experience in the United States. Materials from 1987 to 1995 in the English language are included: books and book chapters, theses, dissertations, magazine and journal articles, published conference papers, and selected reports, government documents and newsletter articles. There is also a brief section on electronic resources. Because of page limitations, this work excludes ERIC documents, unpublished papers given at conferences, non-English sources, newspaper articles, and audiovisual sources (videotapes, sound recordings, slides). Bilingual materials are included if there is an English component.
